How to Create a Custom Certificate
This guide will teach you how to create a custom certificate
Custom certificates can be applied to courses and live learnings, so that certificates are automatically awarded to users on the completion of that content.
For guidance on how to apply a certificate to a course or live learning refer to: How to Apply a Certificate to a Course or Live Learning
Creating a Custom Certificate:
1. Navigate to the Custom Certificates page by clicking Admin > Course Management > Custom Certificates.
2. Click the CREATE CERTIFICATE button.
3. Open your certificate in Microsoft Word (or equivalent).
You can use the Example Certificate Template rather than configuring your own fro scratch. You can download the example certificate template from the Create Certificate Page:
4. Add/replace images and text, and customise the certificate to your liking.
5. Use the 'Supported Placeholder Fields' in your certificate to autogenerate the corresponding information in the certificate:
- ${FIRSTNAME} - The user's first name.
- ${LASTNAME} - The user's last name.
- ${FULLNAME} - The user's full name.
- ${CONTENTNAME} - The name of the content completed.
- ${CONTENTTYPE} - Whether it is a course or a live learning.
- ${COMPLETIONDATE} - The date of completion.
- ${COMPLETIONEXPIRYDATE} - The expiry date of the completion. This will be based off the Course's Workflow. (update once Workflow articles are over in Hubspot)
If you have created custom user and custom content fields in your tenancy, these custom fields will be available as placeholder fields to use in your certificate as well.
6. Upload the Word file using the BROWSE FILES button, or by dropping your file into the Certificate Template field.
7. Name your custom certificate using the 'Name' field at the top of the Create Certificate page.
8. Click the CREATE CERTIFICATE button.
You have now successfully created a custom certificate!
