Editing a Cohort
This article will guide Admins through editing a Cohort. If you want to discover what the Cohort function is used for, please read this article.
Navigate to Admin > User Management > Manage Cohorts
1. Click
for the cohort you wish to edit, and then select the edit button
2. On the Cohort edit page you will be able to:
- Change the Cohort Name
- Change the Cohort Description
- Enable Cohort Features by selecting them from the dropdown field
The cohort features available are:

- 'On Leave' - Will designate the Cohort as on leave so its users will be excluded from reporting and receiving emails and notifications.
- 'Alternate Supervisors' - Will allow this cohort to be the designated list of users who can be selected to approve a Live Learning session registration if the user registering, does not have an active supervisor.
- 'CPD Points' - Allow the Cohort to obtain and track CPD points in their 'Achievements' page in 'My Learning'.
- 'Capability (New)' - Will turn the capability feature on for the users in this cohort.
NOTE: even though you can assign capabilities to this cohort
- Allow Supervisors to edit the Cohort
If this is enabled, supervisors will be able to manually add or remove the users they supervise from this cohort. They will have an additional view on the supervisor tab to view cohorts they can update.
- Allow users to request to join the cohort
If enabled, users will be able to view the name and description of this cohort. Cohort Managers can approve or deny any requests to join the cohort.
Users can view these cohorts on the Find Your Cohort page. If you want to give them access, consider including it as a Link Widget on a homepage dashboard, or sharing this link in other communications.
- Assign cohort managers to the cohort
To add a cohort manager to the cohort, press the 'select cohort manager' button, select the user/s you wish to assign as cohort managers, and press the confirm button.
- Apply a Tax exemption for that cohort when making purchases on the PLMS
3. After editing the cohort, click the save button
You have now successfully edited a Cohort!
