How to Create, Edit, or Delete Content Categories and Tags

This article will guide Administrators through the process of creating, editing, deleting and applying a content tag or category.

Categories and tags serve as effective tools for organising your content, enabling users to filter the catalogue and locate materials on specific topics or subject areas. Additionally, these elements are reflected in reporting, providing valuable insights into the types of content that users are engaging with. Administrators have the capability to add tags and categories to any type of content.

Creating a Tag or Category

1. Navigate to the Admin menu and select Tenancy Management.

2. Select Manage Categories and Tags.

3. Select Add New Category or Add New Tag

4. Enter the Name of the Category or Tag you want to create. Click Save.

Editing, Viewing or Deleting a Tag or Category

  • To edit a Tag or Category, select the Pencil icon.

  • To view the content that a tag or category has been applied, select the View in Catalogue button under the Applied Contents column.

  • Click the Bin icon to delete the tag or category.

Adding or Removing a Tags and Categories

1. Navigate to the content you would like to add or remove the tag or category. This can be done via the Catalogue.

2. Select the Update Content function depending on the content type e.g. Update Course or Update Live Learning.

3. Select the appropriate Category from the dropdown menu. (Please note, content can only have one category assigned.)

4. Select the appropriate Tags from the dropdown menu. Content can have multiple tags applied.

5. Scroll to the bottom of the update page and click Update to save your changes.

  • To remove a content Category, select None from the dropdown menu.
  • To remove a content Tag, click the X next to the tag you wish to remove.
