So you need to reset a password. Luckily, it's quite easy to do so.
With a password reset you have two options.
1. User prompted
2. Admin prompted
The user prompted option is better for instilling the knowledge of how users can reset their own passwords. However, if password management is infrequent, you may want to just reset the password yourself and save the time.
User Prompted Password Reset
1. Send the user to the login page.
2. The user should click 'Forgot your password?' below the login button.
3. The user should enter their username into the forms and click 'Send Reset Email'.
4. The user will then receive an email prompting them to reset their password.
Admin Prompted Password Reset
With admin prompted resets, you have two options:
1. Set the password for the user
2. Prompt the user to reset and set their own password
Set the password for the user
1. Go to 'Browse and Update Users' located under User Management in your admin menu.
2. Click the icon under Update User.
3. Enter a password and confirm the password.
4. Optional: Toggle 'Force Password Change'. This will make the user set their own password after successfully logging in.
5. Click 'Save Changes'. You can now provide the password to the user to use.
Prompt the user to reset and set their own password
1. Go to 'Browse and Update Users' located under User Management in your admin menu.
2. Click the icon under Update User.
3. Scroll down to and toggle 'Reset the User's Password'.
4. Click 'Save Changes'. This will now send an email to user with a link to set their password.
