Creating & Managing Certificate Templates

Overview

Acorn allows you to create branded certificate templates that are automatically issued to learners when they complete a course.

Creating a certificate template

1. Go to Admin > Course Management > Custom Certificates > Create Certificates. 
2. We recommend downloading the Example and customizing it to your preference. 
3. Customize the template.
   
   1. Insert dynamic fields. Ex) ${FULLNAME}, ${CONTENTNAME}, 
      ${COMPLETIONDATE}.
   2. Add your logo and signature image if required.
4. Preview and save the template. Note: The template must be saved in the same file format as it was downloaded. Changing the file format will result in a failed upload. 
   
   

Assigning a certificate to content

Certificates can be applied to Courses or Live Learnings. 

1. Access the content you want to add the certificate to, click on the cog wheel > Update Course/Live Learning > toggle on Enable Completion Certificate.
2. Select the certificate template from the dropdown. 
   
   Note: If no custom certificate has been created, the dropdown will show "Default Certificate (Open)". This is an auto-generated certificate available on all tenancies. It cannot be edited, as it is a system default designed to help users generate a certificate before they have had time to create a custom one.
3. Select Single Certificate Template or Time-Based Certification Table.
   1. A time-based certification table allows you to assign different certificates based on specific timeframes. Learners will receive the appropriate certificate according to their completion date, enabling you to offer tailored certificates for different periods.
      
      If the "From" date is left blank, learners who complete the content before the "To" date will receive the certificate. Likewise, if the "To" date is left blank, the certificate will be awarded to those who complete the content after the "From" date.
      
      Gaps may exist between date ranges. If a learner completes the content outside of any defined range, they will not receive a certificate.
4. Scroll down and click Update Course/Live Learning.
   
   

Learner access to certificates

Learners can view and download their certificates from My Learning > Completions> Certificate Icon
