[Reports](https://help.acorn.works/help-centre/reporting?hsLang=en-au#reports) 6 November 2026 # Generating, Filtering & Exporting Reports ## Run and export any report in Acorn with the right filters for your audience. ### How do you open a report? 1. Navigate to **Admin \> Reporting \> Reports** and click **New Report**. 2. Select the report you need. ### How do filters work? - **Date range** - completions or enrollments within a period. To include all time, select **Custom** and clear all dates. - **Cohort** - users in a specific Cohort. - **Course** - a specific Course. - **Status** - the user's progress (e.g. Completed, In Progress or Not Started). - **User** - a specific user. Click **Next** to refresh the results. ### Why does my report show no results? Filters combine. A user must match **every** filter you apply, not just one. If no user matches all of them, the report is empty, even when each filter returns results on its own. The **Role** filter works differently from the others. It limits the report to the users that role can see. For example, a Reporting Officer may only see 13 users. If you add a custom field filter such as Location, the report only shows users in both groups. To fix an empty report: - Remove filters one at a time to find the one that excludes everyone. - Use a broader role, such as Admin, if you need all users. - Check the users' profiles have the custom field filled in. See also Users Not Appearing in Reports. ### How do you export a report? 1. Run the report with the filters you need. 2. Click the cog icon \> **Export to CSV**. The export includes every row that matches the current filters. Large exports may take a few seconds. ### How do you save a report view? Click the cog icon \> **Save Preset** to save your filters as a named view. ### Which report shows engagement with each item in a Program? Use the **Content Completion** report, filtered by Program and date range. It lists one row per user per item. ### Can reports be sent automatically? Yes.
