How to Use Acorn’s AI to Create Cohorts and Map Capabilities Using Job Descriptions
This guide will step you through using Acorn’s AI to create or select cohorts and automatically map relevant capabilities to them based on uploaded job descriptions.
This feature allows you to upload job descriptions, let AI recommend cohorts, and map the relevant capabilities to those cohorts automatically.
To use AI-driven cohort and capability mapping:

Go to Admin.

Select the Capability Dashboard.

Click Map Capabilities to Organisational Cohorts.

Select AI-Driven Capability Mapping from a Job Description.

Click Create New Capability Mapping.

Upload up to 10 job descriptions (depending on the cohort you are creating).

Click Analyse.
Choose a Cohort

AI will present three options:

Recommend the creation of a new cohort

Recommend using an existing cohort

Or allow you to manually select an existing cohort if the AI suggestions don’t fit

Once you’ve selected your cohort, click Discover Capabilities.
Review Recommended Capabilities

Click Review Now to view the AI-recommended capabilities for the selected cohort.

To refine your results:

Click the red bin icon to delete irrelevant capabilities.

Click Map More Capabilities to request additional AI suggestions.

Click the arrow next to each capability to view further details.

Once you’re satisfied with the capability selection, click Approve.
Note: The cohort will not appear under Cohorts until you complete the final step.
Finalise the Cohort

When ready to launch, click Go Live.
The cohort will now be active and visible in the Cohorts section.
Tips

Uploading multiple job descriptions for similar roles improves AI accuracy.

Review each capability thoroughly before approving to ensure relevance.

You can return at any time to add more capabilities to the cohort.
