How to Use Supervisor View and Team Reporting

See your team’s training progress and generate reports as a manager or supervisor.

Manager View gives supervisors and team leaders visibility into their direct reports’ training status without needing full Admin access. This article covers how to access Manager View, what data is available, and how to run team reports.

Accessing Manager View

To access Manager View, you must be assigned as a supervisor for at least one user in Acorn. Once assigned:

  1. Log in to Acorn and navigate to your profile or the top navigation menu.
  2. Select Supervisor.

If you do not see the Supervisor tab, your supervisor relationship may not be set up. Contact your Acorn Admin at your organization and see Setting up supervisor relationships below.

What you can see in Manager View

Manager View shows information about your direct reports, including:

  • Each team member’s current training enrolments and completion status
  • Courses with upcoming due dates or overdue completions
  • Certificate availability
  • Compliance status where configured

Managers can only see data for users directly assigned to them as supervisor. Indirect reports (e.g. reports of reports) are not included unless explicitly configured.

Running a team report

  1. In Supervisor view, click Reporting > New Report > select the report.
  2. Filter by course, date range, or completion status as needed.
  3. Click Next.

If you need a more detailed report (e.g. across multiple cohorts or all courses in a period), contact your Acorn Admin — they can run broader reports from the Admin panel.

Setting up supervisor relationships

Supervisor relationships must be configured by an Admin. There are two ways to assign a supervisor to a user:

  • Individually: Go to Admin > User Management, open the user’s profile, and set the Supervisor field. See How to Browse and Update Users.
  • In bulk: Use the manager_username column in a Bulk User Upload to set supervisor relationships for multiple users at once. See How to Bulk Upload Users.

If your organisation uses an HR feed, supervisor relationships may be managed automatically via the manager_username field in the HR export. Contact your Acorn Admin to confirm.
