How to Verify a User

This article will show administrators how to manually verify a user account.

How to manually verify a user's email address

When a user self-registers but hasn't clicked the verification link in their email, an admin can manually verify them directly from the Users list, no need to involve the user.

Step 1: Go to User Management

Navigate to the Users section in the admin area.

Step 2: Find the user

Locate the user you need to verify. You can search or scroll through the user list.

Step 3: Look for the question mark icon

Next to the user's email address, you'll see a question mark icon (a person with a question mark). This icon only appears for users whose email has not yet been verified. Hovering over it will show the tooltip: "Manually verify this user's email address".

Note: If you see a clock icon next to the email instead, the user's account is pending admin approval — that's a separate process handled via the Registrations section.

Step 4: Click the question mark icon

Click the icon to instantly verify the user's email address. No confirmation dialog will appear, the action happens immediately.

Step 5: Confirm it worked

The user list will refresh automatically. If verification was successful, the question mark icon will no longer appear next to that user's email address.

Things to know:

Who can do this? Only admins with permission to edit or update users. You cannot verify your own account this way — the button only works for other users.

What does it do? It marks the user's email as confirmed, allowing them to log in normally (assuming their account doesn't also need approval).

Does the user get notified? No — manual verification does not trigger a confirmation email. If you want them to know, you'll need to reach out separately.

What if the user never received their verification email? That's a separate flow — you'd resend the verification email through the system rather than using this manual button. Manual verification is best used when the email was received but the link expired or wasn't clicked.
