Whitelisting a Domain for Acorn PLMS
Ensuring your organisation receives all platform-generated emails from Acorn PLMS (such as password resets, enrolment confirmations, notifications, etc.) is essential for a smooth learning experience. If users are reporting that they aren’t receiving these emails, it may be necessary to whitelist Acorn’s sending domain within your email system.
What Is Whitelisting?
Whitelisting is the process of allowing a specific email address, IP address, or domain to bypass spam filters and security rules in your email system, ensuring that important messages are successfully delivered to inboxes.
Why Whitelisting Is Important
Acorn PLMS relies on automated emails to:
-
Confirm registrations
-
Send password resets
-
Notify learners of enrolments or deadlines
-
Deliver reminders and learning updates
If your organisation’s email filters block or redirect these messages, users may miss critical communications.
Domain to Whitelist
Please whitelist the following domain in your organisation’s email system:
@acornlms.com
We also recommend whitelisting any custom subdomain used for your specific tenancy (e.g., noreply@yourorg.acornplms.com
) if applicable.
IT Configuration Steps
Provide this information to your IT or cybersecurity team. They may need to:
-
Add
@acornlms.com
to the approved senders list or safe senders list -
Ensure the domain is not flagged or blacklisted in spam filters
-
Configure firewall, spam filtering systems (e.g., Proofpoint, Mimecast), or Microsoft 365/Google Workspace to allow traffic from Acorn
-
Check that SPF, DKIM, and DMARC settings are not blocking Acorn's emails
If your system uses IP-based allowlists, please reach out to Acorn Support and we can provide the necessary IPs used by our mail servers.
Tips for Preventing Email Delivery Issues
-
Encourage users to check their spam or junk folders
-
Ask users to mark Acorn messages as safe or “Not Spam” if they find them in the wrong folder
-
Use a test account to verify email delivery before going live
