Release 1.6.2 - 6 April 2025
We've got a really exciting release coming out, including our first major foray in AI features in Capability Discovery, a huge bunch of cool momentum additions, and a smattering of bug fixes as well. Check out the details below!
What's New! 🎊
AR-7228 Capability Discovery - Job Description Upload
We've been talking about Capabilities for a while now: the benefits they can bring your organisation; how users interact with them; and our vision for their use in the future. However, a major pain point we identified in Capability adoption is the initial creation of a Capability Library. So we decided to invest in a new AI function (the first within Acorn) to assist in the setup of new libraries that are both broad and relevant to your organisation.
The new AI-driven Job Description Cohort Mapping feature is now available from the Capabilities Dashboard. This AI is designed to digest Job Descriptions (as PDF or other file uploads), and then recommend which of the capabilities within the platform are relevant for that job role. It then also suggests a cohort to be used for that Job Role (either new or existing), and then maps the capabilities to that cohort. This ensures that the capabilities that are assigned are relevant, without hours of work analysing the entire library.
After digesting the job descriptions, the system suggests new or existing cohorts to be used.
The capabilities that are assigned to the cohort based on the job role, ready to be approved.
Additionally, as this is our first major AI feature to be implemented, people might have some questions about how we approach AI. You can read more about our stance in our AI policy document, or have the feature enabled, by reaching out to our support desk for more information.
AR-7192 Momentum Event Node - Update User Data
A new momentum event node, that can update a user's custom data fields. This can be used to take a form response and use it to change the user's own data. This user data can then be used to filter reports or automatically put the user into cohorts for additional functionality.
AR-7349 Capabilities - Pending Assessment Widget
We've added a brand new widget to Capabilities, to help with a common user journey. Admins can now add the Pending Assessment widget, which shows the user if they have any outstanding capability assessments to complete, and links them directly to them. If the user has no pending assessments, they can also use this widget to start a self-assessment.
Changes ✨
AR-7193 Momentum Constant - Text User Field Data
In order to support AR-7192, we needed to introduce a way to save the user's data fields, both to allow it to be changed as necessary or to use the saved data to affect transitions or other momentum processes.
AR-7194 Momentum Constant - Date User Field Data
Similar to the above, this constant allows us to store and reference any date data from custom user fields. This could be used to set a momentum transition to behave differently depending on a user's hire date, leave timing, or even their date of birth!
AR-7399 Momentum Transition - Is Course Enrolled
In order to allow for better momentum processes, we've introduced some new transition options. You can setup a transition to only occur if the user is enrolled in a course. This can be used to send the user down a path to provide different information based on the user's enrolment status, or to trigger their enrolment in a course only if they are not already enrolled.
AR-7398 Momentum Transition - Is Course Complete
Additionally, we've added a very similar transition that checks if the course is complete. This can be used to prompt the user to provide feedback only if the course is complete, or to enrol them into different subsequent content depending on which content is completed.
AR-7348 Add user fields and cohorts to form reports
Added some new filter options to the form report, to allow filtering by user data fields and cohorts. This is in line with the other report types.
AR-7555 Updated ANZWordline AuthorisationMode
We've changed the AuthorisationMode of the ANZWordline requests, so that transactions using that payment type are processed faster and correctly categorised in ANZ's system.
AR-7603 Improved pagination for pending momentums
We've improved the pagination so that users with large numbers of pending momentum applications (100 or more) will now be able to load each page of responses individually, avoiding any significant load problems.
Bug Fixes 🐞
AR-7578 Resolved a problem where the scorecard doesn't display well if the capability name is very long
Improved the presentation of the capability name within the scorecard, so it doesn't overlap of the name is very long.
AR-7298 Unable to view payment policy document on external checkout
The payment policy (added when creating a payment method) is now properly accessible when purchasing content from the external catalogue.
AR-7558 Fixed an issue where the compliance report shows incorrect status for different timezones
The compliance report shows the user's status against chosen content, based on their applied workflows. We resolved an incorrect calculation of the user's status, which only occurred when there was a difference between the timezone of the user who ran the report, and the user who is viewing the report.
AR-7513 External Catalogue showing cohort restricted content
Resolved an issue where the external catalogue was showing content that was cohort restricted. As the user is not logged in, they are not in any cohorts, so none of the cohort restricted content is visible for them.
AR-7615 Improved password validation UI alt text
Added better alt text to the icons that appear next to the password field, explaining what the password requirements are. This will make it clearer for screenreader users to understand what password requirements they need.
AR-7702 Form report correctly displays '0' responses
If a user chose the number '0' in a numeric field in a form, the form report was interpreting that as a is the user didn't provide a value at all. The report now correctly shows the number '0' as their response.
AR-7490 Removed Proficiency Level None
The proficiency level 'None' option was causing confusion with results in reporting, as well as resulting in various bugs when analysing the gap in capability across the organisation. This level has been removed.
