Creating a Capability Library without a Template
This article will show you how to create a capability framework without a template.
What are capabilities?
A 'Business Capability' describes the skills, knowledge, processes and other resources an organisation possesses. This allows them to achieve their strategic goals, objectives and business functions.
How do we set them up?
Firstly, we’ll need to set up our Capabilities Library.
In this article, we will proceed without a template, this means we will be creating the required capability library, sets and proficiency levels ourselves. We will then map the capabilities to content, and assign the content to a specific cohort.
Proceed to Admin > Capability Dashboard > Set Up Capability Library > Proceed without template > Name your Capability Library.

Adding Proficiency Levels
In order to complete your capability library, you will need to add Proficiency Levels to your Capability Library.
E.g. Foundational (level 1), Proficient (level 2), and Advanced (Level 3).
Creating a Capability Set
In 'Edit Capability Sets', click on '+ Add Capability Set' and fill out the name and description of each set you would like to add.
Adding Capabilities
Complete the following: Capability Set, Capability Name, Capability Description, Enable Proficiency, and then describe the Proficiency Levels.
Once completed, the Capabilities and Proficiency levels should look similar to the video below.
Adding Capabilities to Content
Capabilities dashboard > Add capabilities to content > Select Capabilities > Select Content > Confirm
- This page is used to bulk assign Capabilities to content
- This is where you link learning to performance
Mapping Capabilities to Cohorts
